Adult protection litigation

The protection of persons who cannot make decisions for themselves is paramount.  With the introduction of the Lasting Powers of Attorney, you are guaranteed greater protection; for example:

  1. The Lasting Power of Attorney must be registered with the Office of the Public Guardian before it can be used;
  2. Certificate providers must confirm that you understand the nature of the Lasting Power of Attorney when you sign it.
  3. You can nominate people to be notified when the LPA is registered
  4. You or others can request an investigation of the decisions made on your behalf if you feel that they are not in your best interests.
