Property and Affairs Lasting Power of Attorney
LPA explained
This allows the person that you appoint to deal with matters relating to your financial matters. The following is not a conclusive list:
- Claiming benefits on your behalf
- opening, operating or closing accounts
- paying household expenses
- paying for your day to day needs
- paying for medical or residential costs
- Buying, selling or mortgaging a property
An Important note about this Lasting Power of Attorney is that the power can be used as soon as it is registered.
You can safeguard your self from any potential abuse of the use of the power by having restrictions on when the power should be registered or limiting what decisions the Attorney can make on your behalf.
